Using the Automated Retopology is fast and easy to use. However, their limits is that they are not accurate to the original plan and they are harder to predict their outcome.
Their benefits include controlling their tools to make them look accurate. The requirements may be low Poly, Quads Polys and Even Topology. Their tools also let you draw on the surface and step building in any models.

Unwrapping Prep works on texture baking, and it considers where the UVW will go. All parts of the Low Poly Mesh need to unwrap. Use Poly groups, material IDs and smoothing groups to separate parts.
This character model has more improvements to change, which I always need 3DS Max to edit them again. Using the Swift loop can create symmetrical edges inside the model. It helps me adjust the chest and it’s vertex, including changing the head into a round model.
