”Workshop Task using Unreal Engine Part 2”
***Day 14 (17/11/22)***
This workshop task is about improving the Main Menu design by using the Game Settings Video as a Menu Background.
Lesson Learned: Thanks to my Lecturer, I was able to learn how to "Migrate in Unreal Engine" by exporting the files from the Original Content Browser to the other Targeted Unreal Engine's Content Browser.
The Menu Background Video tasks:
- First thing to do was collecting and downloading sprites to drag them to a video making software called Adobe Premiere Pro.
- After creating the Loop edited video, I export it to mp4 or H.264 mp4 file version.

Menu Background Loop Video with H.264 Mp4 file using VLC application
- After creating a Menu Background Loop Video, I import this file to the Unreal Engine Project and try to drag them up to the Main Menu.
- The whole operation resulted task, WAS FAILED.
- I tried to import and put them together in Unreal Engine but, this video file only shows black screen instead of a moving video.
- Even I attempted to follow YouTube guideline videos and how to fix the errors and change the project settings into Direct X11 but, it didn't work.
- I tried multiple trials and errors and then, most of them are failed. So I decided to give up this task and try to make a simple Main Menu Design.
[Result Process: Failed]
Refining Paused Menu on the Game Project’s Screen:
When I reviewed the Game paused mechanic again, I realized that my partner’s instruction was putting a Pause Button and activating the Game paused on the Tutorial Level when clicking it.
- So, I have to add another Widget called “GameOn_Menu” to place the Paused Button at the top right of the Gameplay Level.
- After designing the Paused Button Widget’s Canvas Panel and button, it was time to add their Event Graph by using the OnClick Button to their Paused button.
