”Module Task and Requirements”
***Day 1 (28/09/22)***
The first thing to work out in this module is to work in a group of 2. Choose a group and a member will confirmed their module team in the early weeks of the module. Get ideas, set a theme and genre before creating a Game Design Document.
Summary of taking this Level Design Module
Four Task to complete Module:
Task 1: Game Design Documents
- This task should allow the group to design and develop as if they're working together. Create a Game Design Documents that involves with the game's ideas, art style, simple mechanics, time management and demo version.
- Milestone Due Date: Wednesday 19 oct (10:00 am)
Task 2: Unreal Engine Tutorial Level
- Create a Tutorial level for the game. The demo should include a main menu and title screen, as well as pause menu and end screen.
- Use the Game Design Document to follow up the process of introducing the player to the world, mechanics and narrative. It should last around 3-5 minutes and the game controls must be keyboard, mouse along with a gamepad like Xbox controller.
- Milestone Date: Thursday 24 November (10:00 am)
Task 3: Unity Tutorial Level
- Use the game engines(Unity and Unreal engine) for the tutorial level. The demo should act as a copy of presentation.
- Milestone Date: Thursday 15 December (10 am)
Task 4: Summary Presentation
- Create a video presentation that will act as your technical and design journey, summarise the game idea and onboarding process and theory.
- The presentation must include a demo of the gameplay in this video. It must be the work of two members, working together to complete the presentation and editing.
